Time to come home...

Packing up after almost 4 months was not an easy thing to do and not just because I had accumulated more stuff and that it was everywhere! I was probably the only person flying back to Australia that hoped the flight would be cancelled. Neville is in the middle of an arbitration for Dana Gas and for 2 weeks is working on London time, he made it home Wednesday night in time to have a last glass of wine and take me to the airport.

I arrived in Brisbane at 10 pm last night, the process through Immigration and Covid screening was efficient, by 1130 I was quarantined in the Rydges Fortitude Valley. I'm in a basic room with a view over the Brisbane Showgrounds - at least there is some green

and beautiful blue sky. Tabitha & Daniel along with Elissa & Ethan will be charged with dropping off essential supplies like decent coffee, pilates mat, wine and chocolate. Maybe not the chocolate... Monday morning I will have about 30 papers to mark for Flinders Uni, so that will give me something to do other than binge watch all of the series I have missed on ABC and SBS...except it is not a smart TV so maybe not!

I will hold off on the Woolies food order for a day or 2, it seems there is no choice of menu (although I did request low carb) but I was nicely surprised by my lunch delivery of grilled fish and a lovely salad! I just had another knock on the door...you have to wash your hands, put on a mask, and wait 2 minutes before opening the door - my darling daughter must have read my mind, I have just received a birthday bottle of red wine! I've also just had a call from Elissa asking for my list, she is getting me body wash from the Body Shop and peppermint teabags. I am spoilt!

I fully appreciate that I am so very fortunate to be living this life in the midst of a pandemic, to be able to come and go, to be free to spend time with people I love across multiple states and continents. Two weeks living in this room is such a small price to pay for that freedom.

Please feel free to ring, Skype or message me over the next 2 weeks - It will be lovely to have a chat and I'm sure it will make the time go faster.
