So I had thought to make my 14 days of quarantine alcohol free...nope - I just couldn't do it. Thursday I was feeling a little sad, was listening to music that made me feel even sadder, there was a moody gorgeous sunset and then I realised it was 5pm and Thursday evening (the equivalent to the start of the weekend in UAE)! That was all I needed. Thank you Tabitha for a nice bottle of red. My meal delivery is early so by 5:30pm I had dinner...a very decent T-bone steak, what better to go with my red wine - it was delicious.

Overall, I am doing rather well and am very impressed with Rydges Fortitude Valley. They are providing excellent service, meals, coffee and general responsiveness. Every day I am delivered something different to eat - delicious, fresh and mainly low carb…although let me tell you how much I enjoyed the burger and chips on Sunday night! The bed is really comfortable, the water pressure in the shower is great and I can’t hear my neighbours in their rooms at all.

Thursday there was some excitement (I use that term lightly) on the pavement across the road. A brass band gathered and walked along to entertain some lucky person. On their way back they realised there were people at the hotel windows across from them watching and clapping along with the beat...well I was! The beat was really all we could hear because this place is well sound proofed. The only other notables were a delivery of fresh towels and bed linen & I also rearranged my room to give me more floor space.

I have been so fortunate to have such a large window to the world, I may not have fresh air but I have changing skies and a sense of time passing. I loved the full moon rising.

Oh - my first Covid test was done Monday and was negative, my second test is next Monday. I am out of here on Thursday 6th, day 9 and counting...
