Escape from the city...

Last Saturday after restocking the alcohol in Ras Al Khaimah, we drove up the Jebel Jais mountain. It is part of the spectacular, albeit barren Hajjar Mountain range standing at an altitude of 1,934 metres, it is the highest mountain in UAE. It was not a particularly clear day but the most important photo is the highway up the mountain... How much fun do you think Neville had with a clear run of no traffic and 2 lanes of near new tarmac? It was an amazing run both up and down! We had tried to get into the restaurant at the top called 1484 (the highest in UAE) but it was booked out until April. We had to make do with pizza - yes, of course mine is the one with vegetables on it!

We are going back in early April to Jebel Jais for lunch at 1484, Neville is also keen to do the world's longest Zip Line that starts there... Oh and yes - he also wants another run up that mountain!
